With every vintage we hold back about a dozen or so cases and about that many magnums of each of our wines. These are our “library wines.” We do this in order for us to discover how certain vintages develop and mature in the bottle. It used to be said that California pinot developed for about eight years and should be enjoyed within that time frame. What we have discovered is that some of our early vintages are developing delightful characteristics even at ten years. We will continue to hold onto to some of these library wines but we also have some to share. So if you have an interest in our earlier Tantara pinots, Chardonnays and Syrahs, please get in touch with us.
